Figuring out how to become the healthiest version of yourself can be a difficult thing to maneuver. Maybe you are stuck on where to begin or how to stay motivated or maintain that healthy lifestyle.
I get it. I am a busy mom with 2 under 2. Finding motivation and holding yourself accountable for a healthy lifestyle can be the most challenging parts!

Finding The Motivation To Workout
Finding the motivation to begin a workout can be extremely challenging. Sometimes I think the hardest part of my workout is just starting it! These are the 3 ways I keep motivation to start my workout:
I know I will feel better once it I accomplish a workout
I know I will have more energy when I am done with it
I know I will feel like I accomplished a goal for the day
I think having attainable fitness goals are a huge part of keeping the motivation. If you have an attainable goal in mind, it is easier to accomplish it than having a goal that is completely unrealistic for you.
For example, I don’t go into my workout thinking I am going to be able to tackle a 1 hour workout. That usually is not realistic for me since I have 2 kids under 2! However, I go into my workout saying I am going to accomplish 25-30 minutes and if I have time for more, great!
If we go into a workout with an unrealistic goal I think it is easy to lose motivation because we feel like we did not accomplish what we wanted. When we don’t accomplish what we wanted it is easier to say the next day, “I didn't get to finish my workout yesterday so I will skip today”.
Workout Tips
My number one workout tip for success is to find a workout that works for you. Maybe you love to run, or love to walk, or love to do weights, etc. Find something that is fun for you because this will make it so much easier to do.
Don’t be afraid to switch it up! I switch my workouts up. I don’t do the same workout 2 days in a row because I find it gets to be boring. Do weights one day, cardio one day, whatever works best for you!
I personally alternate my workouts- I do one workout routine with dumbbells one day, then I do my other workout routine with dumbbells the next day and so on. I also sometimes throw in just a cardio day to keep things interesting!
Another tip I have is to find the time of day that you feel most motivated to workout. For me this is in the morning after I have had my coffee. If you find the time of day that works best for you, it is easier to make it a part of your daily routine.
Lastly, find someone who motivates you to workout! Having friends or family who motivate you to get your workout done is such a helpful tip in staying consistent!
Self Care Ideas
Self care is such an important part of achieving our healthiest selves! My favorite way to unwind after a workout or a long day is with my skincare routine. Taking care of our skin is so important!
My absolute favorite skincare products are from dime skincare. These skincare products make me feel so refreshed and make my skin feel so good! They also work amazing. Healthy Food Ideas
I like to follow an 80/20 rule with eating. Meaning I eat healthy 80% of the time but I still eat things like pizza or chocolate occasionally! My number one tip for healthy eating is plan your meals ahead. If you know what you are going to cook it is easier to eat healthy. Healthy eating doesn't have to be complicated, healthy meals can be simple to make! Here are some of my staple healthy food options:
Taco salad- cook ground beef or your choice of meat, season meat with choice of seasoning (I use siete mild taco seasoning). Cut up romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and white onion. Assemble lettuce, tomatoes, and white onion in bowl. Add ground beef. Top with shredded cheese, salsa, and plain Greek yogurt (I use this in place of sour cream). You can also add in rice or beans!
Healthy green smoothie- add frozen mango, pineapple, banana, and spinach to blender. Add in almond milk and protein powder if you want. Blend and enjoy!
Peanut butter breakfast smoothie- add 2 tbsp of peanut butter, protein powder, 1 tbsp flaxseed, a little bit of honey, almond milk, and ice to blender. Blend and enjoy!
Feta scrambled eggs- scramble up 2 eggs. Heat pan and add in spinach. Saute spinach, add scrambled eggs in. Once cooked, add in feta cheese. Serve! You can also use mozzarella cheese instead of feta!
One pan chicken sausage and veggies- Cut up your choice of chicken sausage and veggies. (I like to use bell peppers and broccoli). Once all cut up, put on sheet pan and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes!
These are just a few of the healthy meals I make! Healthy eating can be so tasty and simple and will help you achieve your healthiest self!
The Importance of Hydration
I know we all hear about the importance of drinking enough water. It can be hard, I get that. Drinking enough water is such an important part of a healthy lifestyle though.
When I don’t drink enough water I feel very groggy and often get headaches. When we don’t consume enough water we can also mistake thirst for hunger as well. To reach your healthiest self this year, really try to get your daily water intake in!
Let’s become our healthiest selves this year together! Remember it is important to have goals in mind, to plan ahead, and to do your best to stay motivated!
